Affording a Waldorf Education
Waldorf Education is committed to being independent, privately funded, and accessible to all. We believe that Waldorf Education should be available to any family who values and is committed to it, regardless of financial circumstances. We welcome all families to apply, understanding that a diverse and dynamic community benefits everyone. WIWS is committed to equity and inclusion.
If the cost of tuition is a barrier, families may apply for Adjusted Tuition based on demonstrated need and commitment to Waldorf Education. In the 2024-2025 school year, more than 50% of students were awarded a tuition adjustment.
Tuition Structure
Sibling Discount: Available to all families, offering a 10% discount for the second child or subsequent children in a family.
Adjusted Tuition: For families who cannot afford full tuition, adjusted Tuition is available for all Early Childhood programs through grade 8.
Financial Commitment A commitment from each family is essential for the health of our school. Some families receive support from extended family, take out educational loans, or invest in savings plans. We do not offer work exchange programs. We ask families to contribute according to their means, considering income, assets, dependents, and other financial factors.
To ensure fairness and confidentiality, we use the FAST Aid system for financial evaluations. It’s important to apply early to maximize the possibility of receiving tuition assistance, as funds are limited.
FAST Aid Application Process
Apply Early: The earlier you apply for FAST Aid, the higher the chance of assistance.
FAST Aid: This process is handled confidentially and is required for all adjusted tuition applications.
New website / user experience this year FAST Aid: Be prepared to create a new login
For Help: Please contact our Finance Manager, Jean Fee, at financemanager@wiws.org
New and returning families who experience significant changes during the school year can apply for tuition adjustments at any time. We are committed to ensuring that no family is turned away due to financial reasons if WIWS is the right fit for them.
Working Connections Child Care (WCCC) Helping families pay for Early Childhood child care.
When a family qualifies for child care subsidy benefits and chooses an eligible provider, such as Whidbey Island Waldorf School, the state pays for most of the cost of child care. The parent may be responsible for a small monthly payment (ranging up-to $200)
