More on Waldorf100 around the world:
In 1919 in Stuttgart, Germany, Rudolf Steiner started the first Waldorf School. Today, there are over 1,100 Waldorf schools and over 800 Waldorf kindergartens worldwide, and over 160 Waldorf schools and teacher training institutes in North America. Waldorf education is one of the fastest-growing models of education in the world. Across North America, Waldorf schools and institutes are engaging in four core initiatives as part of this year's Birthday Celebration and beyond:
The Waldorf Chronicles: An audio archival project utilizing the Storycorps platform to record and share the histories of each respective Waldorf school.
GreenBee Wildlife Web: The creation and expansion of pollination gardens and beekeeping programs in their school.
Hand in Hand: Community Engagement Projects: Active community projects that connect communities, spark conversation, and ignite inclusion, diversity, and equality.
Events and Celebrations: Individual and regional events and celebrations for the 100 year anniversary of Waldorf education.
